Luc De Raedt is a full professor of Computer Science at KU Leuven, where he heads the lab for Declarative Languages and Artificial Intelligence. His research interests are in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Guy De Pauw has been working as a language engineer for more than 20 years and has extensive experience developing robust text analytics applications for a wide range of languages. As co-founder and CEO of the University of Antwerp spin-off Textgain, he is now bringing artificial intelligence to the market that can extract knowledge from documents in the context of automation, trend analysis and user profiling. At the cross-section between industry and academia, Guy is always searching for industrial applications for the state-of-the-art in cognitive computing.
As Machine Learning Manager, Maarten gets energized by managing – and delivering AI-first sytems at ML6′ customers. Maarten’s cross-industry expertise is mainly in the field of Text Analysis (Natural Language Understanding, Speech-to-Text, etc.), Computer Vision & IoT Analytics.
In 2009 he obtained a Master degree in Computer Science Engineering at Ghent University applying machine learning in robotic behavior research. Afterwards, in 2013 he completed a PhD at the Reservoir Lab of Ghent University, building new machine learning approaches where neural networks and reinforcement learning algorithms were investigated and applied on advanced robot and control tasks. In his spare time, he is a hardware enthusiast, Dwengo member and counts many Deepmind scientists among his old labmates.
Arnout De Vis is an RPA engineer at Roborana. He has a creative background in music and a master in international business, which showcases his interests in different fields. After his experience as a consultany manager at ORMIT, he ended up with the start-up Roborana, which is part of the umbrella group Cronos. As a creative Jack-of-all-trades, he has gained a vast experience in Robotics Process Automation. On the one hand, he is experienced in the analysis and the development of RPA-projects, on the other hand, he guides companies throughout their whole RPA-process.
